Lygnen rundan

If you choose to start the hike at the start portal and then go round the clock, you will come to a bridge over Logens brook, mentioned 1320 as the border between Växjö and Linköping diocese. This boundary was probably established around 1250 after the pope's envoy Vilhelm of Sabina visited Sweden and in 1248 handed down a judgment in the dispute over the boundary between Växjö and Linköping diocese. If you then continue the tour, you have Lygnen to the west and the residential community to the east. In the 1930s, it was thought that untreated wastewater would benefit fish production in lakes. The wastewater has, among other things, led to giant populations of reedbeds that sometimes obscure the lake from the hiking trail. The sewage from Lygnen flowed on to Lake Kalven and also threatened Allgunnen and around 1960 a sewage treatment plant was built at Kalven, when the discharges in Lygnen ceased.

In the spring you can experience lots of flowering golden powder by the path and in the autumn you can taste forest blackberries. At the southern end of the lake, you can now look out over overgrown moss plantations. The year 1942 was rainy and the moss cultivation with grain at Lygnen was too wet for machines from Lammhult's farm to be able to take care of the harvest. The management of Stolfabriken and Möbelfabriken Elit then let the employees who wanted to work during paid work participate in the harvesting work and with liar mow the grain and tie it by hand. About 50 employees participated and thus saved the harvest in 1942. On the western side of the lake you can see a laughing gull colony in the spring and in the autumn pick large quantities of cranberries. From Lygnenrundan, there is a path up to the homestead.
