Bord för alla

An outdoor cooking area with a stone oven, set in the forest just outside Munkfors.

In the forest by Lake Vågsjön, a bit into the Vågsjörundan trail, you will find Bord för alla. A direct translation of Bord för alla is Table for everyone.Bord för alla offers you, as the chef or accompanying party, an Italian stone oven and two large bench tables. It's available for you if you want to enjoy a meal outside in nature, with a view of Lake Vågsjön.

The Vågsjörundan trail begins with an accessible section leading to the stone oven and rest area. An accessible dry toilet is also available at the car park.

Important information before you start using the stone oven

• Start by removing the protective cover on the oven (remember to always put it back when you are done and leave the place).
• Brush out any charred residue. Feel free to use the stainless steel bucket.
• Use only dry hardwood in the oven. Newspaper may also be used to light the fire.
• Do NOT use liquid fuel (lighter fluid, gasoline, kerosene or similar liquids) to start or maintain a fire.
• Do NOT use coal, pressure impregnated wood, chipped wood products, resinous trees such as pine, wood laminate and more.
• Do NOT use products not listed for use in this oven.

NOTE! Never use water to lower the temperature inside the oven, or to extinguish the fire.

How to use the oven

Start by building a fire in the centre of the oven.As the oven approaches the desired temperature, move the fire to the right-hand side, brush the cooking surface clean, and begin cooking.

Please note! Only dry hardwood may be used. If you plan to use the oven, you must bring your own firewood.

A pizza peel and brush are normally available on site. However, visitors should bring their own tools, as availability cannot be guaranteed.

When you are finished, please clean up after yourself and take all litter with you when you leave.

In the area

A stone's throw from the oven, there is also a barbecue area, bathing area and a sauna (pre-booking of the sauna is required).

You will also find the starting points of two hiking trails here, Vågsjörundan and Säterrundan.If you have a fishing license for Klarälven FVOF within Munkfors municipality, you may also fish in Vågsjön.

Fun facts

Bord för alla is an installation developed by the creators behind the international success “Bord för en” (Table for One) from 2020. “Bord för en” was a private dining experience – a single table and chair set in the middle of a summer meadow in Ransäter. The food was served in a basket, lowered by rope directly from the kitchen of the neighbouring house. It gained international media attention and was described in the media as “the world’s only truly pandemic-safe restaurant.”
