Beskrivelse

The Navröd nature reserve is located next to the southern shore of Lake Sövdesjön and is part of the Snogeholm recreation area. The reserve is located in the western part of the hiking area and was set aside to preserve the open grazing landscape. In the eastern parts of Navröd there is a dry sandy slope, and to the west increasingly damp meadows take over. In large parts of the hiking area, outside the reserve between Navröd and Snogeholmssjön, there are plenty of constructed hiking trails, bridleways and picnic areas. There are also opportunities for canoeing and fishing.

Navröd is important for bird life and here you can meet species that are typical of the open pastures, such as yellow sparrow, wolf bird and shrike. Many geese and ducks rest along the shore towards Lake Sövdesjön and both white-tailed eagles and golden eagles can be seen flying over the area.

In English

Welcome to Navröd Nature Reserve

Navröd Nature Reserve has many visitors - mostly of the feathered variety. All year round, birds are attracted to the wet meadows for shorter or longer stops.

For migrating birds, the valuable riparian meadows are a welcome resting place during their long flight. In late summer and autumn, waders such as redshank and greenshank rest here. Little gull and black tern visit the meadows in spring. In winter, white-tailed eagle and golden eagle soar above the ground where ducks and geese search for food. And in summer you can encounter species typical for open pastures, such as yellowhammer, great gray shrike and red-backed shrike.

The pastures in Navröd vary from dry to wet. In the eastern part of the reserve, you find a dry sandy slope and to the west increasingly moist meadows predominate up to the canal, which delimits the reserve. The nature reserve is located in the western part of Snogeholm recreation area. The Snogeholm Trail, marked in yellow, passes through the reserve.
