Liljeslåttsbäcken, Naturreservat

Liljeslåttsbäckens nature reserve consists of grand-dominated forest with a lot of aspen and willow. The name comes from the stream that runs through the area. Around the turn of the last century there must have been a settlement in the area. Remains of this can be seen in the northern part, where there is an old potato field.

The area is located 2 miles northeast of Kårböle and about 1 mile west of Hennan and covers 63 hectares. There are no paths in the area, so you can roam freely in the forest.

Unusual species

The unusual species found in the area are concentrated in the forest near Liljeslåttsbäcken itself and scattered in the forest north of the stream. Examples of species found in the area are the cream lichen, lung lichen and wrinkled skin.

Prickly pear grows in soft wood on coarse, lying, dead spruces, and where it is found there are usually several other rare fungi.

The eastern part of the nature reserve is mainly on a drained bog. Here, self thinning has begun and therefore there are relatively many small dead lying trees.
