The church path runs through the reserve and there is a shelter here.

The reserve has a very old and productive spruce forest with a large number of deciduous trees such as birch, aspen and willow. There are also a few very old pine trees in the area. Several of these pine trees have what are known as fire noises visible on the trunks, which indicates that the area has burned in the past.
