Beskrivelse
The high moss can offer grouse playing in spring and peaceful walks in summer.
In this fine wetland area there are examples of the different types of bog habitats with raised bog, marginal forest, laggkärr and bog islands that are unusual for south-eastern Värmland. Several habitats worthy of protection under Natura 2000 are included in the area, such as the raised bog with marsh pines, the wooded bog and well-developed old pine fringe forest. Poor marshes are represented here by the laggkärret (one of Värmland's largest) near the edge of the forest. There is also natural forest on the flat mire islets with blocky moraine and up to 150-year-old trees.
The area is a former domain reserve from 1937 that became a nature reserve in 2000. The reserve was established to preserve and manage an interesting wetland area and the typical vegetation and wildlife associated with its habitats. The area is part of the EU's ecological network of protected areas, Natura 2000.
Stone Age settlements have also been found in the area.
Animals and plants
In the laggkärret, mosquito flower Hammarbya paludosa and white star Carex livida grow. In the forest there is some dead wood and species associated with the dead trees such as the red-listed species wood bustard Anastrophyllum hellerianum and wood bag moss Calypogeia suecica.

Rutevejledning
Location: Värmlands län, Kristinehamn municipality, about 3 kilometers south of Pori. From Kristinehamn road 26 towards Mariestad, turn left towards Björneborg. In central Pori turn right straight south towards Jonsbol. After about 3 kilometers turn right, then next left along the eastern border of the reserve. There are no road signs to the reserve.
Regler
In the nature reserve it is forbidden to:
- make a fire,
- organize competitions,
- camping,
- set up a hiding place or similar,
- bring dogs that are not kept on a leash, other than for authorized hunting
- capture, disturb or injure mammals, birds, frogs and reptiles, as well as damage their nests and breeding grounds or collect eggs
- collecting invertebrates, such as beetles and land snails
- picking plants, including vascular plants, mosses, lichens and woodland fungi
- marking out trails, organizing orienteering checks or competitions
- erecting a board, sign, inscription, poster or similar device
- damage or remove trees and bushes, including deadwood such as lying or standing dry trees and dry branches
- drive vehicles or ride horses
- damage or remove any natural object or surface formation or damage the ground cover.
Without the permission of the county administrative board, it is forbidden to make organized use of the area for commercial purposes, for schools and institutions to regularly use the area for scientific or other studies.
