For more than 40 years, Bjursås Berg & Sjö has been a destination for year-round experiences. Just a couple of hours from the Mälaren region, visitors can enjoy skiing and winter adventures during the snowy season, while summer offers cycling, hiking, swimming, and unforgettable nature experiences. In June 2026, the newly built hotel Bjursås Bergsgård opened. A cosy hotel with a distinct touch of Dalarna throughout, it offers the perfect setting to enjoy nature and activities right outside your door, all year round. With 18 rooms, five conference rooms, a restaurant, a gym, and a wellness area, it is an ideal retreat to unwind and enjoy the tranquillity of Bjursås.

Winter in Bjursås
Most people know Bjursås for its excellent downhill skiing, with 23 slopes and two chairlifts and five drag lifts that comfortably take you back up. However, it is perhaps the wide range of activities that surprises visitors the most. There is cross-country skiing for both experienced skiers and beginners, as well as an ice track for skating, ice fishing, snowmobiling, or simply exploring the beautiful surroundings on foot or by kick sled (available to borrow).
After a day of activities, the family-friendly relaxation area awaits, featuring a pool and hot tubs where you can unwind together. And it’s always nice to have your accommodation close by.
The hotel, cabins, and campsite in Bjursås are all located close to the slopes and activities. Food and après-ski are available at two restaurants, and equipment can be rented at Skidboden. Bjursås is often described as one of the cosiest ski resorts, and even Carl Linnaeus’s companions seemed to find something special here when they coined the nickname “The Switzerland of Dalarna.”

Bjursås Berg & Sjö is a “bike- and hike-friendly accommodation,” meaning it offers tailored facilities for those who love cycling, hiking, and experiencing nature. Naturally, there is secure bike storage, expert knowledge of the best trails, bike-washing facilities, and tools for basic repairs, among other amenities.
In addition to cycling and hiking, there are plenty of other activities to enjoy both on the lake and at the resort. Popular lake activities include stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), fishing, canoeing, and swimming in Lake Bjursen.
There are also play and leisure activities on-site, where classics such as mini golf and the padel court are among the favourites.
