Beskrivelse
Torpa - Hofsnäsområdet is located at Yttre Åsunden in Tranemo municipality. The area is well known for its protected fauna and flora. There are many red-listed lichens, fungi and wood insects in the area, mainly those associated with the older oaks. There is also a rich ground flora.
The Hofsnäs and Torpa manor houses are adjacent to the area. Torpa stone house is one of the country's few preserved medieval castle complexes. Hofsnäs is located on a headland surrounded by lakes Torpasjön and Yttre Åsunden. Most of the isthmus is dominated by old oak forest. Fields are scattered between oak groves and hardwood curtains. The oak forest is heathy, sometimes grazed and sometimes almost park-like in that the shrub layer is kept away by clearing. The forest is mixed with birch, spruce, hazel and several types of noble deciduous trees. There are some spruce plantations in the middle of Torpanäset.

Regler
You are welcome to visit the Torpanäset nature reserve but please note that it is not permitted to:
- damage or remove dead or living trees, twigs or other plant parts, except for berries and edible mushrooms
- collect, dig up or pick plants, mosses, lichens, wood fungi or insects
- disturbing wildlife by, for example, climbing nest trees or deliberately staying close to a bird of prey's nest, lair or burrow
- harvesting or otherwise damaging dry grass or windfalls
- camping other than in places designated by the nature conservation manager, erecting windbreaks or setting up caravans
- light fires other than in places designated by the nature conservation manager
- drive vehicles other than on existing roads
- ride horses other than on existing roads
- bring an unleashed dog
- put up a board, poster, poster, sign or make an inscription.
