Fruns backe

In the middle of car dealerships and workshops right next to Järfällavägen is a place called Fruns backe.

Fruns backe is a prehistoric burial ground with around seventy graves. The land once belonged to Veddesta farm. People have probably lived here since the Iron Age. In the southern part of the burial ground, the old county road winds.

No one knows for sure where the name Fruns backe comes from. One guess is that the wife of one of the owners of Veddesta farm was fond of the place and often visited it.

There are many large oaks and pines growing on the forest slope. On the ground there are flowers such as the pink cuckoo flower and little bluebell. There are many nice little glades where you can walk and sit down for a picnic.

Here is also part of a rune stone that was moved here from Äggelunda farm. The upper part of the stone has long since disappeared.
