Skarpåskojan

A rest hut with simple wall-mounted cabins that can be used for overnight stays for those who have their own sleeping equipment. One day in the early 1990s, the forestry consultant, Ingvar Holmqvist, happened to come across a half-demolished forest hut on the northern edge of Skarpåstjärnen in Vike. He took the time to examine it more closely and immediately realized its cultural-historical value. After many contacts with the landowners, the local history society and potential co-financiers, the hut was finally restored and could be reopened in November 1995. Through the efforts of the Forestry Commission, ALU money, Holms Hembygdsförening and the landowners, it had then been restored to essentially its original condition.
