Beskrivelse
Lush vegetation on steep terrain accompanied by the call of the nuthatch is perhaps the most characteristic thing that the visitor will experience in the reserve.
The Tjärnberget nature reserve has long been known primarily for its rich flora. Tjärnberget is a hyperite mountain where the bedrock is alkaline. There is a rich occurrence of calcareous flora. Many red-listed species and several signal species have been found in the area. Most of these species are vascular plants, but mosses, lichens, birds, insects and fungi are also represented. Approximately 11 ha of the area's total area belongs to the European Natura 2000 network, which aims to protect the nutrient-rich spruce forest and taiga habitats, as well as the species halibut, all of which are listed in the EU's Species and Habitats Directive.
The Tjärnberget nature reserve was established to preserve and develop biodiversity in an area of valuable forests.

Rutevejledning
Location: Värmlands län, Forshaga municipality, about 4 km northwest of Mölnbacka. From highway 62 or 63: Turn towards Mölnbacka. In Mölnbacka turn towards Genbäcken. Drive about 3 km and turn left before a steep hill. Drive about 2 km more to get to the reserve.
Regler
It is prohibited to:
- collect or harm invertebrates such as beetles, snails and butterflies
- collect mosses, lichens and wood fungi
- break branches, fell or otherwise damage living or dead trees, standing and fallen trees, and bushes,
- use the area in an organized way for commercial purposes without the permission of the county administrative board, and for schools and institutions to regularly use the area to carry out scientific or other studies,
- drive vehicles, such as bicycles, tractors, snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles (quad bikes).
