Skutan/Högstaskogen

Just around the corner from Brandbergen and Svartbäcken is the municipality's own small primeval forest area near Skutans gård. The terrain is hilly and consists of swampy spruce forest, small bogs and marshes and large areas of old, gnarled rocky ground pine forest. The forests have natural values that are in part completely in line with those of Tyresta, and there are perfect mushroom and berry fields. South of Skutan's farm is a small game water. The water was restored in 2015 and it will be exciting to see if species such as the black-crowned grebe, little grebe and moorhen find their way back! There is also a beaver lodge in the wildlife pond. Adjacent to the wild water there is a barbecue area, windbreak and an accessible bird tower. The walkway from Skutan's farm to the barbecue area and the bird tower runs on flat terrain and is accessible. A 2.3 kilometer long nature trail with 14 information boards telling about nature in the area starts from the shelter. The nature trail runs in hilly terrain.
