Beskrivelse
Stora Hult's beach is a remnant of an ancient grazing landscape that previously characterized the Scanian coastal strip. The old pastures and the sandy beach are home to a rich flora and bird life. The sandy beach in Stora Hult is a popular bathing spot during the summer months.
Old pastures and shallow sandy bottoms
Stora Hult beach is adjacent to the northern parts of Vejbystrand and covers an old-fashioned outfield landscape. The reserve also extends some way out into Skälderviken and thus protects shallow sandy bottoms that are important spawning and breeding grounds for many fish species.
Hedgerow flora
Along the sandy beach at Stora Hult, goosegrass, marsh marigold, saltwort, shore scrub and shore aster grow, as well as several different seagulls. A little further up on land there are dunes with the sand binding grasses sand reed and beach rye. Several ditches run through the area and in some of them grows the rare plant spring grass. There are patches of short heath vegetation. Here you can find plants such as bristle thistle, sheep's fescue, little bluebell, yellow buttercup, back thyme, bluebells, wood anemone, rock sorrel and spring heather.
Nesting birds
Several different waterfowl breed in the area, including shelduck, eider, little auk, oystercatcher, greater sandpiper, redshank and grey gull.
Outdoor life
The reserve is a 1.5 km long strip of beach in the southern part of the Bjäre Peninsula. Skåneleden (SL1 coast to coast, stage 18) which runs along the coast passes through the reserve and continues into the nature reserve Södra Bjärekusten Link to another website. which connects to the north. Both these areas are popular swimming spots during the summer. Remember to take your rubbish home. Parking is available in both the northern and southern parts of Stora Hult beach. The nearest bus stop is Vejbystrand Tångvägen which is about 1 km south.

Regler
**Within the area, special rules and restrictions apply to the right of public access.
For example, it is forbidden to:
- have a dog unleashed
- camping
- setting up a caravan/mobile home
- windsurfing or kite-surfing within the water areas marked on the map, see Annex 1
It is important to note that this is only a selection of the rules.
Full regulations for visitors
In addition to regulations and prohibitions in other laws and regulations, it is forbidden to:
- damage solid natural objects or surface formations such as boulders, rocks or earth formations by, for example, digging, plowing, drilling, chiseling, hacking or painting,
- ride a bicycle or drive a motorized vehicle or park other than on designated roads and parking spaces,
- camping, setting up a caravan, camping car or similar,
- pick, dig up or otherwise damage plants and vegetation,
- bring an unleashed dog,
- ride other than on designated roads or paths,
- make a fire other than in designated places,
- use the area for golfing,
- engage in windsurfing or kite-surfing within the water areas marked on the map appendix,
- use a radio, gramophone, CD player, musical instrument or other sound device in a disruptive manner
- affixing a board, sign, inscription, poster or similar device, with the exception of information and reserve signs, boundary markers and traffic signs,
