Beskrivelse

At Mörbylund, just outside Gripenberg, there is a strange lyre pine that is powerful to behold. Myrtle pines consist of multi-stemmed tree tops and, due to their strange appearance, have often been associated with myths and various rites through folklore. The name is said to come from the fact that the wind could play in strings that could be stretched between the different trunks of the trees. In this way, the pine acted as a lyre, an ancient stringed instrument. The lyre pine in Mörbylund is included in the Tranås Nature Conservation Program and should be protected for the future.

Rutevejledning

Drive from Tranås towards Gripenberg via road 131, pass Gripenberg's castle, then drive past a larger farm on the right, here you turn right towards Mörbylund. Pass Mörbylund and continue to the next turnoff to the right where there is a sign Perstorp. Park here and then walk the road ahead and you will see Lytallen on the right shortly. There is a simple sign "Tallen" that points to a path that takes you closer to the tree itself.
