Beskrivelse
Veka nature reserve consists of two areas, a northern and a southern part. The hilly terrain includes older beech forests. From high places you have a nice view of the Fylleån valley.
The forest throughout the area has a large element of deciduous trees. In the steep slope down towards Veka village grows older beech forest. The beech forest is valuable for mosses, lichens and other organisms that depend on old forest for their survival. The hazel shrub is common throughout the reserve and its nuts are food for jays and nuthatches, which, together with tits, like to spend time in the area.

Rutevejledning
Veka N and S are in Halmstad municipality. Directions: North: From road 25 in Simlångsdalen center take towards Mahult. After 3.5 km, turn right at Mahult's farm onto a small road, cross the bridge over the Fylleån river and continue about 800 m to a small parking lot. South: This part is most easily reached on foot or by bicycle from Veka N. The area is a few hundred meters straight south from Veka N. There is no parking here.
Regler
To protect the nature reserve, the County Administrative Board has decided on special regulations, including those that you as a visitor to the area must follow and respect.
In addition to what applies under other legislation, it is forbidden to:
- destroy or damage any fixed natural object or surface formation
- affixing a board, poster, inscription or other disturbing device
- damage vegetation, e.g. by digging up plants
- disturbing wildlife, for example by photographing birds' nests from close range
- letting dogs loose in the area
- camping or pitching a caravan
- making a fire other than in the designated area
- driving or parking motorized vehicles other than on the designated road and parking area, and
- cause damage to fences or other structures.
