Stavgard Vikingagård

Stavgard is a unique place in southern Gotland, in the parish of Burs. The area is full of Iron Age remains - including the remains of the second largest longhouse in the Nordic region, which is believed to be the house of the hero Beowulf. An entire Viking farm has been reconstructed on this site, and in the summer months it is populated by Vikings and visitors. Iron objects are forged here, fabrics are woven here, and herbs are grown here - just like in Viking times! Archers and warriors also train here, and tales and myths are told by the fire.
