Göran Bergström is the man behind the rose garden that was established in Haga Park in 1998. Here you will find a variety of fragrant and colorful roses that together create a harmonious environment, perfect for relaxation and enjoyment in the middle of the possibly hectic holiday.
In the rose garden there is a rose named after Princess Estelle, Duchess of Östergötland. The rose is white, tall, beautifully star-shaped and blooms best in July.

Fakta
A rose garden is particularly appropriate in a medieval town. Roses came to Sweden with the monasteries in the Middle Ages and the port town of Söderköping with its Franciscan monastery should have had several rose gardens. Perhaps some of the roses we can see today were grown in the Rosarium, such as Rosagallica officinalis (apothecary rose), Rosa alba (peasant rose) and Rosa Mundi (candy cane rose).
