Vildmarksleden

The trail starts at Ljugarns Golf, where you can easily park your car while hiking.

You start by walking Vitvärsvägen along the golf course and then turn into the forest. The trail goes around Kaupung Castle, which is not a castle with battlements and towers but an old castle / defense facility from the Middle Ages. There is not much to see of the castle itself anymore, but the surroundings are scenic. Castles were usually built on cliff edges, a steep mountainside, and this is no exception. The trail runs along the upper part of the cliff edge, and in the middle of the upper loop you will find a viewing tower. With a bit of courage, you can climb the tower and get a great view of the coast and the land beyond. On the lower loop you pass a cold spring, i.e. fresh spring water flowing out of the mountain. After passing the spring, you hike up through a ravine and there, under a rocky outcrop, you will find the most enchanting resting place. Then there is the last stretch before you come back to the parking lot. Here you can enjoy a coffee or a meal if the golf restaurant is open.
