Beskrivelse
According to legend, Tjelvar's grandson, Gunnfjaun, had this church built as a place of worship at the medieval marketplace that existed on Kaupungsklint just east of the ruin.
The preserved window and portal details indicate that the chapel was built in the mid-14th century.
The church ruin is about 21x11 meters, with an almost square chancel in the east with masonry preserved up to 4.5 meters high. In the west, the masonry is slightly lower, 2.5 meters high.
In the chancel masonry there is a preserved masonry from the chancel window. In the eastern part of the north wall there is a wall opening, covered with an arched vault. Two portal lintels, both carved in a limestone block, are preserved, albeit taken down. They can be seen set against the masonry of the ruin.
