Fish from Lake Vänern and classic Swedish dishes

Strand, Kök & bar is located on the eastern shore of Lake Vänern and began as a small lakeside shed. Over the years, it has been expanded and developed into a popular summer restaurant that attracts guests from near and far.

Here, they serve a selection of lunch dishes and, in the evening, a delicious à la carte menu featuring fresh fish from Lake Vänern—such as pikeperch and perch—as well as high-quality whitefish roe. The kitchen makes a point of using local ingredients, which is also evident in the restaurant’s meat and vegetarian dishes. For our youngest guests, there is a special children’s menu.

Your Comfort Is Our Priority

Behind the restaurant is Kenneth Rotevall, whose goal is for every guest to leave satisfied. With a focus on high-quality food and warm hospitality, the restaurant creates a pleasant experience for both returning and new guests.

At the far end of the spacious outdoor seating area is the restaurant’s wine bar—a perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine as the sun sets over Lake Vänern. Kenneth is also a wine importer, which is reflected in the restaurant’s carefully curated wine selection.

The restaurant has approximately 150 seats, about 60 of which are indoors.

A perfect stop along the way

Strand, Kök & bar is ideally located for cyclists traveling along the Vänerleden national bike trail or traveling along Route 26. For those arriving by boat, there are guest berths where you can dock, whether for a short break or an overnight stay.

Dog-Friendly Restaurant

Your four-legged friend is also welcome here, both indoors and on the outdoor patio. Feel free to ask the staff for a water bowl for your dog.
