Beskrivelse
A soapstone quarry at the southeastern tip of Sörtjärnen is reached via 200 m of fine path that begins 100 m after the asphalt road ends. Soapstone and the particularly fine variety of steatite found here, which is clearly dark green, has very distinctive properties. It can be sawn, cut and polished. It also has excellent heat-retaining properties, which is why it has been used for stoves, among other things.

Rutevejledning
In Portbron after E12 the road goes towards Laisholm. When you have passed through the village of Laisholm from Hemavan and the asphalt turns into a gravel road, you continue approx. 100 meters before a nice path begins on the left side that leads up to the southeastern tip of Sörtjärn. Here is the soapstone.
