Nybylund

Friendly, restful and adorably beautiful. A walk in Nybylund is a treat for the soul. Among oaks and hazels you walk down towards the waters of Lake Mälaren. The sun seeps down through the greenery and creates a gentle and harmonious color scale.

Nybylund is an area with oak and hazel groves, oak pastures and open pastures. Large, wide-crowned oaks and clumps of hazel create the special character, although other noble deciduous trees such as elm and lime also grow.

In spring, the ground is covered with delicate herbs, and in autumn many fungi thrive among the colorful leaves. A marked path takes you through the reserve down to Mälarviken Oxen. Down by the beach there is also a prepared rest area.

Nybylund used to be a semi-open leafy meadow where leaves and hay were used to feed the animals in winter. This created conditions for a variety of species that need light, air and warmth. Today, the animals' grazing mules keep the grass down.

As in all nature reserves, there are rules that are specially adapted to protect Nybylund. Please respect these and show care for the beautiful grove.
