Beskrivelse
Just south of Stenshuvud National Park Link to another website. is the nature reserve of the same name. The reserve covers an area around Rörum's northern river. Along the river grows a border of alder, birch and hazel with a rich vegetation and thick mats of the fern ostrich fern.
Lush forest with ostrich fern
In the damp part of the reserve, along Rörum's northern river, there is an alder forest with lush undergrowth in the form of ostrich fern. Between the ferns grows mainly wild garlic, but here and there you can also see forest veronica and forest scabious.
Sandy soils
North of the river, sandy soils with mixed deciduous forest dominate. Birch groves with elements of oak, hornbeam and hazel are interspersed with thicker shrublands. Closer to the water there are more open areas where species such as wood anemone, wood thyme and heath flowers grow.
Hilly terrain
South of the river, the ground is clayier and more hilly. In the sloping terrain, the groundwater breaks through in places, and in these sandy parts of the reserve, species such as rosebay dunewort, umbellifer and brook sedge thrive.
Outdoor life
In this small reserve there is a path that takes you along Rörum's northern river and down to the sea. Connected to this path, just west of the reserve, Skåneleden (SL4 Österlen, stage 5) passes by which takes you into the neighboring national park. In the national park there are great outdoor opportunities with several trails and a nature center. Parking is available adjacent to the national park, the parking closest to the reserve is called "entré Rörum". There is another parking lot a few hundred meters south of the reserve. The nearest bus stop is about 3 km away and is called Rörum Knäbäckshusen. Remember to take your rubbish home.

Regler
**Within the area, special rules and restrictions apply to the right of public access.
For example, it is forbidden to:
- bringing dogs or other pets onto the beach between June 15 and September 1
- have an unleashed dog
- make fires
- camping
- go horseback riding
- set up or park a caravan/mobile home between 00:00 - 06:00
It is important to note that this is only a selection of the rules.
Full regulations for visitors
In addition to regulations and prohibitions in other laws and regulations, it is forbidden to:
- dig or otherwise damage any fixed natural object or surface formation
- break branches, fell or otherwise damage living or dead trees and shrubs,
- picking or digging up plants
- collecting or catching insects or other animals or otherwise disturbing wildlife
- fishing in the sea, with the exception of hand nets. Within the fishing protection area at Rörum's northern river, the Swedish Board of Fisheries' decree Chapter 3, Section 4 (FIFS 1983:15) also applies,
- camping,
- make a fire
- bring an unleashed dog or other loose pet. However, there is a total ban on bringing dogs or other pets to the beach between June 15 and September 1,
- land with an airplane
- riding horses
- drive vehicles or park outside designated roads and parking lots,
- park or set up a caravan or similar between 00.00 - 06.00,
- organize marked or otherwise marked trails or orientation controls,
- affix a board, poster or similar,
- conduct scientific studies without the permission of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency,
- conduct commercial activities without the permission of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency.
