Beskrivelse
Anyone who searches will find it. If you follow the small forest road, well into the forest, you will find the Isakstorp nature reserve. As a reward, you are greeted by a magical deciduous forest with gnarled old trees and moss-covered ancient remains. Crusty species such as the trap moss, goldilocks moss and blunt feather moss show the high natural values of the reserve. A forest road leads you into the reserve. There is no hiking trail.
Old beech forest
Isakstorp Nature Reserve is located in a small hilly landscape dominated by beech forest. Along the watercourse that runs through the reserve there is floodplain forest. There is a lot of dead wood in the reserve, which benefits nesting birds, bats and insects.
The forest in Isakstorp probably has a long continuity. Buhrman's map shows that Isakstorp and its surroundings were covered with beech forest as early as 1687. Today, the reserve has a relatively high proportion of dead wood, which is beneficial for biodiversity. The fact that forests have grown in Isakstorp for a long time, combined with the high proportion of dead wood, has laid the foundation for the reserve's high natural values.
Many demanding species
The dead and dying trees in the reserve are home to ticks and lichens. Among the red-listed lichens, the beech spring lichen and orange-powdered scribble lichen can be mentioned. There is also a rich moss flora in Isakstorp, and demanding species such as the trap moss, goldilocks moss and blunt feather moss are good signal species that show that the reserve has high natural values. A large proportion of the old trees and stone walls are covered in mosses.
Various woodpecker species, including the lesser spotted woodpecker, occur in the surroundings.
Outdoor recreation
A forest road leads to the parking lot in the middle of the reserve. There is no hiking trail. Remember to take your trash home.

Full regulations for visitors
In addition to regulations and prohibitions in other laws and regulations, it is forbidden to:
- remove firewood, break branches, fell or otherwise damage living or dead, standing or lying trees and bushes
- digging up or otherwise damaging boulders, rocks, landforms or stone walls
- digging up plants or picking plants for commercial use
- picking or damaging mosses, lichens or woody fungi
- camping or setting up a caravan, motor home or similar
- build a fire
- park other than in the turning area
- introduce plant or animal species alien to the area
- deliberately disturb or damage wildlife or its habitat, for example by chopping or moving decaying wood or deliberately staying near nesting birds
- erecting a board, sign, inscription, poster, fence or similar device
- riding a bicycle or horse other than on the road.
Furthermore, it is forbidden without the permission of the County Administrative Board:
12. catch insects, spiders, shells or other invertebrates other than by scooping, hand picking or other selective method with subsequent release within the nature reserve.
