Fagerhulta tall

The Fagerhulta pine is a so-called "toothache stable". According to tradition, people went there when they had a toothache. In those days there were no dentists, or at least not in the countryside. Once at the pine, you took a stick and stuck it between your teeth where it hurt and followed a certain procedure that would counteract the pain. You then left the stick in the pine tree and went home. The idea was probably that the procedure transferred the evil to the stick. Locals say that new needles can still be seen in the pine from time to time. The name of the pine comes from the croft Fagerhult which was just over 300 meters away.
