Färgensjöarnas naturreservat, Naturreservat

Glide along in calm waters and take a break in one of the three shelters in the reserve. Here you'll paddle with views of forested hills and seabirds flying by.

The area around lakes Stora Färgen and Lilla Färgen has long been known for its beautiful scenery and interesting birdlife. But you don't have to take a canoe trip for a pleasant experience in the reserve.

The windbreak on the headland "Nabben" is a recommendation for you on foot. The path there is marked from the nearby parking lot. Remember to bring firewood as there is no firewood storage in the reserve. Färgenäs is instead an area for those who want to roam freely in forest and pasture land. There are no organized paths.

Camping is permitted in connection with all three windbreaks. The windbreak on Lilla slättö is most popular with paddlers. There are launching facilities at Lygnared, for example. There is also a public parking lot. It is good to know that there are bird protection areas covering several islands (including the water area within 100 meters). This applies to Granön, Ljussnopparna and Stora Slättön. The bird protection means that you are not allowed to stay in the areas during certain times of the year.
