Fornborg Rocksta

Remains of an ancient fortress, a defense facility built on high ground to defend the inlet for seafarers to the capital of the Swedish Empire, Uppsala. The ramparts date from the ???-century and are divided into three semicircular ramparts. In the interior of the castle, most of the rock is exposed. The innermost embankment is 60 meters long and 3-4 m wide of up to one meter large stones and blocks. Both ends end in precipices. The middle embankment is about 90 meters long. The outer rampart is about 120 meters and 3-5 meters wide. The former defense facility is partially overgrown and resembles a stone string.
