Beskrivelse
Industries have been using the power of water at Follbrinksströmmen since the Middle Ages. The rapids are created naturally by the water lily bay Fatburen flowing into Kalvfjärden.
Although the first mill was built here in the Middle Ages, it was not until the 17th century that the rapids were used on a larger scale. In the century that followed, there was an ironworks, a steelworks, a haberdashery that made clothes for the Swedish army and others, and an oil mill that produced vegetable oil from flax and hemp seeds. The last activity located at Follbrinksströmmen was a saw and flour mill, which closed in 1940. Today, only ancient remains remain in the form of, among other things, a walled water channel and remains of the mill house.
