Stämma naturreservat

Stämma Nature Reserve with its high nature values is also part of Natura 2000, the EU network of valuable nature. The grassland flora is rich in species. Common in the pasture are bluebell, common chickweed, maidenhair fern, bracken, rattle, daisy, sedge, summer saxifrage, meadowsweet, night violet, coneflower and pig's trotter. Other plants include cowslip, cat's foot, bride's breasts, maidenhair fern, millet sedge and buttercup. The gardens are relatively open, but birches are scattered throughout almost the entire area. Other tree species include ash, aspen, oak, wild apple, cherry, maple, pine, rowan, willow and oxel. Among shrubs, junipers are most common, but there are also hazels, rose hips and hawthorns.

Every season has its charm, but you should visit Stämma in May. This is when Evert Taube's flower quartet (cowslip, almond blossom, cat's foot and blue violet) blooms and you have a good chance of hearing the cuckoo call in the spring.
