From here you start your hike on the Östgötaleden trail north towards Linköping and south towards Rimforsa or Åtvidaberg.
Like many other large estates in the 17th century, a deer park was organized in Bjärka-Säby. The deer enclosure here is the oldest in the country that is still in use. This deer enclosure also has the largest concentration of giant oaks in the Oak Landscape, the oldest of which are believed to be older than the enclosure itself, which dates from 1660. Several of the oak trunks have a circumference of over two meters.
