Gripeberg is the county's only ancient castle, which was built in the Bronze Age. Modern archaeological excavations show that it may have been used as a fenced burial or cult area. The hillside and the blocky terrain make the nature experience adventurous. Gripeberg rests on the edge of an ancestral hill. Today, the gray ancient castle offers a dizzying time travel. Sit down on the log benches and let your thoughts follow the history of the place that stretches up to 3000 years back in time. From the top, you also have a great view of the surrounding forest landscape.

Rutevejledning
Gripeberg is located in the Notteryd nature reserve. The walk from the reserve parking lot follows a marked path and takes about 20-30 minutes. Sigfridsleden passes by.
