Beskrivelse
Vinäsgraven is a 100-meter-wide ravine in the Mora drift sand field. Unlike the rest of the drift sand field, deciduous trees grow on its moist bottom. A walking trail runs from a parking lot on the upper road in Vinäs along the ravine.
Vinäsgraven is a ravine carved into the large fossilized drifting sand fields near Mora. The ravine was formed during the last ice age, but also by the stream that flows along the bottom of the ravine. The ravine is approximately 3 kilometers long, and its width varies between 75 and 100 meters.
The bottom of the ravine is damp, and many different deciduous trees thrive here. Pine trees dominate the surrounding heathlands.
The lower part of the ravine was once used as hayfields. Vinäsgraven flows into Lake Siljan. In the ravine and on the surrounding heaths, there are several trails that are great for walking and running.
