Beskrivelse

Fättjaur-Silisen-Valfjället

4 km one way.

From the parking lot at Fättjaur, it is an easy hike of two kilometers through the mountain birch forest to Silisen's Sami hut. From Silisen the hike continues through the birch forest up the slope of Valfjället. You pass a few fine overwatering marshes before the barren mountain heath takes over. The views of lakes Silisen and Virisen are worth the effort. The view from Valfjället's elongated peak is miles wide.

The hilly landscape with its birch forests, reed beds, small wetlands and lakes is home to many birds. The area also has an interesting flora with several species favored by limestone, such as the brown robin, the common saxifrage and the narrow-leaved thornwort.

Here you can choose to walk the same way back to Fättjaur (4 km) or continue towards Grönfjäll.

Fättjaur-Grantonsskalet-Grönfjäll

26 km one way.

The trip between Fättjaur and Grönfjäll is long and sometimes challenging. Many beautiful views regardless of which direction the tour is carried out. The trip goes in varied terrain on bare mountains, over marshes and in mountain birch forest with a few steeper sections. The clear tones of the bluebird in the birch forest are followed by the wistful whistles of the heath pipit over the mountain heaths. Suitable as a two-day trip with an overnight stay in a tent.

The hiking trail passes Valfjället, Rotiken and Grönfjället with a final hike through beautiful Grantonsskalet.

Grönfjäll-Grantonsskalet

3-6 km one way.

Grantonsskalet is a captivating valley with beautiful views of Vojmådalen and surrounding mountain peaks. Granstonsskalet is worth a visit regardless of the season. A cross-section of typical mountain plants grows in the valley, autumn offers crackling colors and spring winter sparkling snow. Grantonsbäcken meanders through the valley. The area is easily accessible for families with children, for example. For more of a challenge, there are several options for summit tours on Kroenejenvaellie, Grönfjället and Klippfjället. There are several avalanche-prone slopes in the area.

The inner part of Grantonsskalet has few light and sound disturbances. In winter, snowmobile traffic is visible and audible, but during the rest of the year it is mainly other hikers and trail markers that can affect the nature experience.

From Grönfjäll, the trail runs for two kilometers through spruce and mountain birch forest before reaching the beautiful high mountain valley. After the bridge over Grantonsbäcken, the trail continues through the valley with the peaks of Grönfjället and Klippfjället on either side. The length of the tour can be adapted according to weather and interest as the same trail is followed back.

There are several options for summit tours. A more pulse-raising alternative to hiking the same trail back is to take the trail towards Fättjaur up the steep eastern side of the Grönfjället massif at the far end of the valley, and then leave the trail and follow the ridge south back towards Grönfjället. On the ridge, the terrain is easy to walk. All the way there are beautiful views of the surrounding mountain landscape. Despite the harsh, windy climate, several delicate mountain flowers bloom among the rocks. On the way there is the opportunity to go up both peaks of Grönfjället, 1,318 m.a.s.l. and 1,376 m.a.s.l. respectively.

A shorter summit tour is to hike from Grönfjäll up to the southernmost peak of Grönfjället, Kroenejenvaellie, 2 kilometers round trip. Initially follow the state trail towards Grantonsskalet. A small path leads up the mountain to Kroenejenvaellie's summit, 989 meters above sea level, with magnificent views of Vojmådalen.

From Grönfjäll it is about 7 km to the highest peak of Klippfjället, Skaarjehke 1,364 m.a.s.l. Klippfjället is popular in winter for ice climbing and has several alternative slopes for loose snow skiing.
