Description

An exciting destination with ancient monuments, as well as rare plants and insects. Many well-worn paths crisscross through an open forest along and around an old gravel ridge. This is a great place to pick berries and mushrooms in the fall.

Rösaring has unique ancient monuments including large burial mounds, a stone labyrinth and a stone-bordered procession path, partly situated outside of the reserve. While in the area, take a walk along Låssaleden trail to see even more relics of ancient times, as well as a beautiful view over Lake Mälaren.

The area is home to numerous unusual insects, such as the highly endangered orange rattle grasshopper. Keep your eyes peeled around the labyrinth. The grasshopper is hard to spot in the grass but reveals its colourful wings in flight.
