Description
A slightly shorter circular walk in the Stora Rom nature reserve, a bedrock plateau with ancient forest where oak is the most common tree, but which also contains rocky outcrops and bare rock. There are several historic places where boats were kept. Called båtkåsa in Swedish, they consist of two low stone walls where boats lay protected from wind and weather. You will find one wide båtkåsa in the northern part of the nature reserve and several small ones to the south. The boats that lay here were used for fishing and for going to milk the village’s cows, which were kept on the nearby island of Tomtö.
