Norra Ljusliden stuga

The cottage is located in the bay of the large lake Ransarn. There are 13 + 2 beds in four rooms. There is also an old cottage on the farm.

The cottage is unlocked and accommodation costs SEK 200 per person per night. Children 0-15 years stay for free. The fee is used for the maintenance of the cottage, equipment and firewood. Payment information is available in the cottage. It is not possible to book the cottage or the beds.

Offer new guests to sleep in the beds if you have already slept one night. Hikers and skiers have priority for the beds.

The cabin has a wood stove, kitchen equipment, mattresses, pillows and blankets. Bring sheets or a sleeping bag. You, as a visitor, clean up after yourself and carry firewood from the wood store to the next guest. Don't forget to splinter sticks that are easy to make a fire with.

Dogs are allowed in the cottage, but they must not lie on mattresses or blankets. Also, do not use kitchen equipment as a food bowl.

**History

Ransarn is a settler environment in the mountains from 1890-1920. The Ransarn area is one of the last colonized areas in Sweden. The settlements that existed here, at most 12, were occupied between 1890 and 1920 and with one exception they were abandoned in connection with the regulation of Ransarn in the 1950s.

Some of the farms have been inhabited since then. Until the regulation, the Ransarn area had no road connection to the outside world. For a long time, people lived according to the settlers' way of life, which was mainly based on hunting and fishing, combined with livestock farming.

Fishing

Ransarn is known for its winter fishing for char. The lake contains both trout and char, as well as some burbot. The state fishing license for mountain fishing applies. Special rules apply in Ransarån.
