Beskrivelse
The history of the estate begins at the end of the 14th century, when it is mentioned in 1395 as "Kurum". Until the end of the 16th century, Kurum was a tax farm, but gradually became more and more prosperous.
In 1635 Nils Gyllenstierna inherited Kurum, and the following year he converted the estate into a manor. At the same time, a manor house was built and named Kurumsnäs.
In 1720, the nationally renowned Arvid Bernhard Horn became the owner of the estate, which was then part of Fogelvik. In 1726, he had Kurumsnäs renamed Hornsberg. During his time, a wooden Carolinian manor house with three pairs of wings was built.
Count Carl Henrik Posse bought the whole of Fogelvik in 1812, and is said to have run a tapestry weaving mill at Hornsberg. In 1839 Hornsberg was separated from Fogelvik.
In 1842-44, a new main building (the present one) was built in stone and brick. This was equipped with extensions and a tower in 1883. The mid-19th century seems to have been a period of great expansion, as most of the houses and warehouses were built at this time. The gazebo on Lusthusholmen is also said to have been moved here at this time. It used to stand on an islet at Fogelvik.
